January 26-January 29This week in Virtual Art Class we started by reviewing important information from last week: Tips and Techniques for the month and their choice board. The technique this month is gradient, which could be used to make monochromatic art. Each grade then has a second option for how they could make art this month if interested (3rd grade: landscape, 4th grade: graffiti, 5th grade: black and white drawing).
We then talked about how the January assignment is posted for them to turn in their project and their Monthly review if they finish before the due date (February 5th). Their assignment is posted under the Classwork tab in their Google Classroom for art and a video with step by step instructions for how to turn it in can be found in the Stream of their Google Classroom and in the Virtual Art Room. Students then had the majority of the class time to work on their project. Some students even shared what they were working on and a few even had a finished project already. Seeing all the cool art that students make has been one of my favorite aspects of virtual art class. Next week in our next live meeting, students will have one last class time to finish up their January project and get it turned in. If they have already turned in a completed assignment, WhatchamaDRAWit prompts will be posted as a fun way to be creative during class. Finish up those projects and I look forward to seeing you soon!
